Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a survey tool that diagnoses cognitive biases in a scientist's research environment. The survey questions were developed based on 40 cognitive biases that are believed to be present in the scientists' research environment. A survey of 83 scientist was conducted to verify the statistical validity and reliability of the developed questions. The questions developed can be used as a single-dimensional measurement tool. The survey tool demonstrates an appropriate level of statistical validity and reliability. This survey tool can be used to measure science researchers' sensitivity to cognitive bias. It can also be useful for checking the research environment.
